JANNIE'S VISION
FOR DISTRICT 67
MENTAL HEALTH & JUVENILE JUSTICE REFORM
As a retired CEO and mental health professional, I spent over 40 years of my professional career devoted to motivating and empowering children and families in understanding and knowing their self-worth. We worked long hours together to help break the stigma associated with mental illness and juvenile delinquency. There is still much work to do and I’m ready to champion the cause for our community's future.
EQUAL ACCESS & AFFORDABILITY FOR EDUCATION
Education saved my life from poverty and hopelessness and allowed me an opportunity to compete. In undergraduate studies, I majored in Child Development so I could gain the knowledge and skills to help others increase their chances of achieving and becoming productive citizens. I’m ready to lead the charge for equal access and affordability for education.
IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO MEDICARE & MENTAL HEALTHCARE FOR SENIORS & VETERANS
Seniors and veterans are the pillars of our community. Often, seniors and veterans have to wait up to 60 days for services due to limited eligible mental health professionals, who are restricted by Medicare policies. Let’s honor our seniors and veterans by changing legislation, and Medicare policies that create barriers to immediate access to services.
